Come share your vinyl! Record lovers unite at Toad on Sunday afternoons – for a day of song sharing, sipping drinks, and chatting about their favorite music. Toad is a cozy neighborhood bar that hosts live bands every night, but at Sunday Spins, the patrons appreciate music in a different format. People bring their vinyl records and sign up for a slot to play two songs at a time.
Music has always been at the heart of Caroline Cotter’s life, alongside an insatiable passion for travel and global exploration. In the past fifteen years, Caroline has lived in and traveled to 28 countries on five continents. While writing and recording Dreaming as I Do, she spent time working for the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) in Portland, Maine as well as teaching yoga throughout the city and at camps, conferences, and retreats. Both provided amazing opportunities for international community and travel, and further inspired Caroline’s songwriting.
Ship of the Sun celebrates the music of the Grateful Dead with a fun, free-wheeling, danceable show that pays tribute to the sounds of rock & roll’s most unique band.
Ship of the Sun came together in 2015 around each member’s love of the songs, spirit, and improvisation adventurousness of the Dead.

Friends, we here at The Blue Ribbons Propulsion/Stagnation/Existential Laboratories would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all y’all who have been coming out to TOAD on Tuesday nights. It truly is a beautiful thing to be together sharing the moment, even if that moment is loud and confusing sometimes. Thank you for listening, dancing, loving it, hating it, ignoring it…the important part is that we are all agreeing to be together for a few hours being human.
Grant Bloom was brought up learning classical piano; wedged between Dallas and Ft. Worth Texas. Much like a kid eating broccoli, he pushed it away, not realizing how beneficial the music was. Some years later, he was baptized into the world of jazz and from this, music began to tug at Grant’s sleeve. After being taught basic guitar chords from his father, and becoming comfortable in his vocal prowess, Grant began to craft songs.
Beginning on stage at TOAD in Cambridge, MA during a weekly residency in March of 2009, Baker Thomas Band has always been an eclectic collection of musicians and good friends getting together to make great music and have a blast. With anywhere from 7 to 10 and even more musicians on stage, the BTB is a wrecking ball of good times and great tunes – and TODAY is Groundhog DAY!

Right after Sunday Spins, we’ll get ready for the 6:30 kick-off with baskets of our homemade Chili Lime Potato Chips on every table (and the bar).
And a menu of our favorite Christopher’s Super Bowl appetizers will be available for the game, as well. Come in and have some Patriots Nation-type fun with us!
