John Powhida is a singer/songwriter living in Boston. John is a multiple Boston Music Award nominee and his songs have been featured in episodes of My Name is Earl and Men in Trees. He has sung on recordings by The Click Five, Sarah Borges and The Gentlemen. You may have seen him perform with his beloved Boston rock and soul combo The Rudds or even as guitarist with rock n roll icon and author Bebe Buell.
Powhida’s main boogie from here on out will continue to be John Powhida International Airport, a potent 6 piece rock, disco, soul, pop fuzion entertainment unit of the highest original order.

With a loyal flock of followers (the flock that rock) to their weekly Wednesday night residency at TOAD in Cambridge, FANDANGO fuels frontman Fred Griffeth to lead this congregation into soul and R&B righteousness! My music is directly reflective of my life as a young woman in the era of late capitalist, mass-mediated North America. I believe that my life’s work is to harness the transformative capacity of the stage. City of Four performs an original brand of instrumental music, influenced by jazz, funk, fusion, pop/rock, hip hop, and other genres.
The band has received an “Outstanding Performance” recognition from DownBeat Magazine as a Blues/Pop/Rock group, and some of the band members’ original compositions and tracks have been recognized by national entities, like ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) and MIX Magazine.
The quartet performs throughout the Boston area, and is currently in residence with Classic Harbor Line aboard the Motor Yacht Northern Lights for bi-monthly funk cruises on Boston Harbor.
This is original music—make no mistake—but if A Different Engine made a mix-tape for our own party, it would likely include songs by Husker Du, Big Star, the Posies, The Clash, Teenage Fanclub, Sonic Youth, Pavement, Superchunk, Dinosaur Jr, Guided By Voices, the Hold Steady, Nada Surf, Beach Slang, Built to Spill, the Lemonheads, and your own favorite band. And it would be a phenomenal party.

Peter Wolf (formerly of the J Geils Band), whose brilliant Midnight Souvenirs—released in 2010—included David Johnston’s “I Don’t Wanna Know.” This song went on to become the second single from that album, and was performed on the David Letterman Show in June of 2010.
Carla Ryder: Rock n’ roll flapper, garage serenader, folk balladeer, front porch chanteuse, country crooner, lover of language.
With a total of 7 albums under her belt, she has toured extensively and developed a loyal and enthusiastic following. A true storyteller, she writes from the heart and from the gut a lyrical portrait of the human condition. Confessional or observational she passionately blends her experiences with those of others and the world around her. Her sound has been described as rootsy, raw, soulful and soaring. She has crafted a style that is heart wrenching and heart warming all at once. She’ll make you cry one minute and make you dance the next. Her charm, presence and humor exude a connection to the audience so deep that from the crowd, you feel that you know her personally.

Hitting the stage tonight is Mike Gent, guitarist & vocalist of The Figgs.
The tried and true band The Figgs, has a worldwide fan base, a hearty discography, and celebrates more than 25 years together. Members (Mike Gent, Pete Donnelly and Pete Hayes) have been playing since the trio was in high school in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The Figgs tunes are stuffed with Kinks-inspired power and melodies, vibrant harmonies and sonic experimentation ala The Beatles and the The Band, the reach of NRBQ’s eclecticism, and a grit and youthfulness akin to the best rock bands from The Who to the Ramones
With a new CD titled Drinking Songs for Lovers, one might be forgiven for believing that Jack Grace should ease up a little. Songs like “Morning Margaritas,” “Drinkin’ and Gamblin’,” and “You Drank Yourself into a Corner” are certainly convincing evidence that the singer, songwriter and guitarist who has made a career out of following no one’s rules but his own is probably going to keep doing his thing until his liver lays down the law.
